Supported Blender Versions

4.3, 4.4 and 4.5 are supported. Support back to 3.6 is currently planned.

Blender 4.4 Stability Issue

The triangulate node in our modifier can cause random crashes in Blender 4.4. This isn't a problem with the addon itself but a problem with the triangulate node in that version of Blender. If you experience crashes, try adding a Triangulate modifier as the first modifier in the stack before the Custom Normals modifier. This is known to help.

Installation

1. Download the addon
2. In Blender, go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons
3. Click "Install" and select the downloaded zip file
4. Enable the addon by checking the box
5. Find the addon's tab in the 3D Viewport N Panel

Upgrading

To upgrade to a new version or upgrade from a free tier to a paid tier:

Uninstall the current version

1. Go to Edit > Preferences > Get Extensions
2. Find the "Fondant Normal Tools" addon in the Installed section
3. Click on the Extension Item dropdown button and choose "Uninstall"

Install the new version following the installation steps above
